The Dig

I branded the YouTube series for our Practical Farm Research team. Each year, the PFR team collects plot data from around Beck’s marketing area and this data has turned into bi-weekly episodes of The Dig, along with live planting episodes called “Digging Deeper.” I worked with a motion graphic artist (Morgan Fitch) to give the logo life and movement. 

Logo Concepts

I spent about three days coming up with ideas and concepts for this branding. I knew I wanted to incorporate the paper texture, as well as getting away from Beck’s traditional branding. “Chili Pepper Red” looked great as a background since green and yellow really made it look like a green screen. I also knew I wanted to incorporate the paper texture to give this series a “grungy” feel. I also wanted a simple logo that could be easily animated and posted on all social platforms.
